Dr. Herlind Gundelach shows "her Elbe islands"
Tour information - cycling tour with Herlind Gundelach and Uli Hellweg
Anyone who is interested in coming along on the next IBA tandem tour on Sunday, 22 July 2012 is still welcome to do so. This is the perfect opportunity for those who "know" the Elbe islands to take visitors on a cycle tour around their favourite spots in the town, around the countryside and along the river. This time, Dr. Herlind Gundelach will be showing her own personal favourite spots, and sharing her personal impressions of them with her guests. The CDU politician has lived in Wilhelmsburg for many years, and her former positions included that of Senator for Urban Development and Environment. The tour of her favourite spots will take the party into the countryside, along a tributary of the Dove Elbe, to the Johanna windmill, into the Heuckenlock conservation area and all the way to the Bunthausspitze. There is plenty to explore both on the known paths and off them. The party will include IBA managing director Uli Hellweg. There will be a short break with coffee and cake for the group, which will also give them an opportunity to chat with the tour guides.
And if anyone would like to go on this tour but is unable to do so on this date, another one is scheduled to take place on 28 October.
The IBA Hamburg wants its series "IBA discovery tour: my Elbe islands" to show its own projects, but also to provide a very personal look at the sights and delights of the Elbe islands.
