Neugraben-Fischbek district development: Fischbeker Heidbrook

The second building area in Neugraben-Fischbek is the approximately 54ha Fischbeker Heidbrook area on the site of the former Röttiger Barracks. IBA Hamburg GmbH has been tasked with the project development, provision of infrastructure and marketing of the area up until 2019.

Around 800 housing units in the form of detached, semi-detached and terraced houses and small apartment blocks are being built here, right next to the Fischbeker Heide Nature Reserve. With the establishment of a local supermarket and small-scale commercial units, there will be a wide range of shopping opportunities for the future residents, and a nursery is also being built. A key feature of the future district is its location at the edge of moorland.

Extensive woodland brings a natural charm to the district and gives the whole area the atmosphere of a landscaped park.

The marketing of the first site coincided with the marketing of the third phase of construction for Vogelkamp Neugraben. The aim is to create stable, intergenerational neighbourhoods and ensure high-quality district development with a good level of design and high energy-efficiency standards. In order to ensure that this is achieved, a ‘house catalogue’ was devised as part of the allocation process for both districts in Neugraben Fischbek. Those interested in owning property in Fischbeker Heidbrook or the neighbouring Vogelkamp Neugraben can choose from a total of 28 architectural designs shown in ‘Our Suggestions for Living Close to Nature’, a catalogue of houses put together by IBA Hamburg GmbH in collaboration with building contractors and architecture firms. Alternatively, those interested can also apply by supplying their own architectural design, drawn up by an architect. More information on both processes can be found here: naturverbunden-wohnen.de.
